Citizens' Initiative submitted to the EU Commission
In the EU, a broad civil society alliance has gathered to save biodiversity and agriculture. Today, organisations from across Europe jointly submitted the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) "Save Bees and Farmers!" to the European Commission in Brussels.
The citizens' initiative aims to end the use of dangerous pesticides and support farmers in their conversion to healthier and more environmentally-friendly production methods. The European Commission now has two months to examine the citizens' initiative. From then on, the alliance aims to collect at least one million signatures in Europe within one year.
